Robert Pattinson: I Pretended to Know Prince William

Robert Pattinson doesn't need to name drop in order to get anyone's attention these days, but that wasn't always the case for the 'Water for Elephants' star. He admitted that he pretended to know
Prince William when he first arrived in the States in order to make connections.

According to UsMagazine.com, the 'Twilight' heartthrob appeared on the BBC's 'The Graham Norton Show' last week and revealed the royal trick he used when he was just starting out in Los Angeles.

"When I first came to L.A., it was very easy to convince people I was a member of the royal family. I hadn't worked for three years -- I was unemployed in London -- and when people asked what I'd been doing, I told people I went to RADA [Royal Academy of Dramatic Art] with Prince William," Pattinson said.

"People would think, 'You're English, I completely believe you!'" he continued.

Maybe Pattinson will have a chance to catch up with his old "schoolmate" when Prince William and Kate Middleton visit California this summer.

Pattinson looks glum next to Reese Witherspoon at Barcelona premiere

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Smile R-Patz! Water For Elephants co-stars pose on the red carpet in Barcelona for the Spanish premiere but Robert Pattinson has trouble cracking a smile next to Reese Witherspoon

They've been jet-setting around the world promoting their new film over recent weeks, but Robert Pattinson looked like he'd rather be somewhere else last night as he posed with Reese Witherspoon in Barcelona.

The on-screen lovers were celebrating the Spanish premiere of Water For Elephants but as they stood arm in arm together on the red carpet, R-Patz couldn't crack a smile.

Pattinson held Reese around the small of her back but their affection looked more awkward than anything else.

After having promoted the film in Paris the day before in a little red dress, Reese slipped on a knee-length black strapless LBD and matching heels for last night’s viewing.

While the Twilight saga star looked smart in a grey suit and unbuttoned blue shirt alongside his trademark dishevelled hair.

Both stars then took a break from posing, before entering the cinema, to sign autographs for fans.

Earlier in the day Reese had still been in France and was taking advantage of the Parisian shopping district by perusing the stores with her bodyguard.

The 35-year-old tried to dress incognito in skin-tight jeans and a denim shirt but was still recognised by onlookers.

A Watershed Moment

I can't really remember ever going to see a circus growing up. No, Cirque du Soliel doesn't count. The circus most people are familiar with seem as though it has remained the same after countless decades. Even if you've never been, you probably have an idea of what to expect: high-wire escapades, exotic animals, human acts like the bearded lady or the tattooed dwarf, clowns. The more things change, the more they stay the same, as many of these circus companies have adjusted over time to become the entertainment juggernauts they are; even their most ardent opponents have to acknowledge the effect that those colorful tents and performers have on the average populace. But those same opponents would love to point out the countless acts of animal cruelty and human rights violations that have gone practically unnoticed, for fear it would diminish the drama that is the "Greatest Show on Earth." That's where Water for Elephants comes in. The film, based on the bestselling book by Sara Gruen, takes a hard look at the methods of traveling circuses during one of America's darkest hours, the Great Depression, and introduces to those who watch things they cannot help but be entranced by, whether they've seen a circus or not.

Supposedly, Rosie was a better kisser
Robert Pattinson stars as Edward Cul... I mean Jacob Jankowski, who one day has his whole life planned out ahead of him, only for everything to change irrevocably in one day. The day he is to take his final exams to graduate from Cornell University with a Veterinary degree, Jacob's parents are killed in an automobile accident, and he learns that due to his father being behind on the mortgage, the bank is foreclosing on his house. Homeless and wandering, Jacob finds himself an unlikely job with the Benzini Brothers traveling circus. He eventually enters a guarded friendship with circus manager August Rosenbluth (Christoph Waltz) and the star of the show, his wife Marlena (Reese Witherspoon). Hired on as an animal handler, Jacob sees how abusive August is of both people and animals, and it is only a matter of time before he must do something, if only to save Marlena - who he loves - and new show elephant Rosie, who he finds under his care.

Four Best-Actor nominees in one shot, anyone?
It may be too often said that the performance of an animal is the best part of a film, but far more rarely can that be construed as a good thing. From the moment adorable elephant Rosie - played by a very talented Asian elephant named Tai - makes her appearance a third of the way through the film, she manages to steal every scene in which she takes part. Obviously intelligent and showing impeccable timing (not to mention a comedic flair), Tai excels in whatever she's tasked with, whether it be a simple trick or as a victim of physical abuse. She is by far the best performer on screen, but don't be fooled into thinking that everyone else are just chumps. Pattinson is especially a surprise, proving he can put on a good show outside of the Mormon vampire set. Perhaps setting the stage for a long career combining all of his Dean-esque talents, Pattinson proves that he can handle the leading man moniker with ease. Witherspoon is also a delight, proving that she's worth so much more than her relatively brainless roles in films like Legally Blonde and 2010's How Do You Know. Hers is even more challenging for having to learn physical routines with her pachyderm co-star, and she works the different angles of her character like a true professional. That Waltz is practically the least of these four stars should not weigh negatively on him; as the film's villain, he is properly dangerous, skeevy and manic. However, Waltz also manages to convey the few positive traits Augustus contains, making for far more than a mere one-dimensional bad guy. All the performances, from the biggest star to the tiniest bit role, are excellently played and truly connect with the audience.

Sigh. He's so DREAMY.
One thing I was impressed by was the story that director Francis Lawrence chose to tell. He could have easily made the film all about the romance between Jacob and Marlena at the expense of the two-faced circus business. Instead, most of the film actually focuses on the conflict between Jacob and Augustus, with the fate of the circus and everyone aboard somewhere in the middle. Rosie is also featured much more than you would guess from the previews, as her role and that of some of the other animals shows us of the horrible cruelty that performance beasts underwent at a time when fresh meat couldn't be afforded for the lions, star horses are driven to the point of physical breakdown and a cruel trainer would leave welts and open sores on the skin of an elephant in a fit of rage. While we are led to believe that this was partly due to the crushing realities of the Depression, there's no reason to believe that these types of goings on don't happen nowadays. Animal cruelty still happens, as recently as 2009 when Kenneth Field (CEO of Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus) admitted to treatment of elephants in ways counter to the US Animal Welfare Act. Presumably even worse in this earlier era, Water for Elephants does a good job showing us abusers who treat these innocent victims even worse than the underpaid manual labor they use to set up their Big Tops.

Trivia fun! In a deleted scene in Vanity Fair, these two played estranged mother and son!
The film does use some CGI effects, most notably in a few scenes in which characters ride atop the circus train while the night sky twinkles in the distance. Sadly, these scenes don't look too realistic, but at least they manage to convey the comfortable mood the story is going for. Most of Water for Elephants is nothing like Lawrence's previous works, the more visually-stylish Constantine and I Am Legend (or his countless music videos). Most everything looks quite realistic, and while the few instances of SFX usage are not meant to wow us, the actual bits and pieces of circus acts are the true eye-poppers; from glimpses of the aforementioned high-wire acts and animal tricks we get our excitement, as though we were patrons of the circus and not the cinema. If there's anything involved there besides amazing camerawork and a great idea of what the director wanted to show, I sure couldn't find it.

Not even the "Greatest Show this Year", but still good nonetheless
Water For Elephants has a few flaws, the most notable being a contrived ending that surprises only in the fact that you never thought they would take the simple route to victory. Still, the word "magical" perfectly works for the majority of the film's execution, and for that reason it makes the 2011 Top 10 list at #7. Of course, if you're more interested in seeing elephants, you can always check out the International Elephant Foundation or perhaps even this article about them. I had a great time and this is a title I would definitely recommend for audiences of all ages.

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson Caught Kissing

Cue the sound of 10 million teen hearts breaking.

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have remained mum about their rumored romance for years, but finally, there's definitive proof that the pair are officially on.

Following the premiere of Pattinson's latest film, 'Water for Elephants,' co-starring newlywed Reese Witherspoon, the hunky Brit was spotted smooching his 'Twilight' co-star in the back of their chauffeured car.

The pair have spent plenty of time locking lips on screen, but this is one of the first times the pair have been caught practicing their PDA without any vampires watching.

Despite past rumors that Pattinson was sowing his wild oats, the actor recently revealed that he's not afraid to commit.

"Life is not black and white ... [but] there is one thing I never understood: why people cheat," Pattinson told Vanity Fair Italy.

"My parents met when my mom was 17 and my father 25, they are still together and seem very happy. I grew up believing that you can be together all of your life."

Robert Pattinson Warns Justin Bieber (You Don’t Need to Use Me to Make up Stories)

Remember the dating tips Robert Pattinson reportedly gave Justin Bieber? Looks like their face-to-face session did not happen, and the heartthrobs have never even met each other
So how did this myth get started? With the following interview quote, reportedly said by JB.
“One day Robert Pattinson came up to me at a party and said, ‘For whatever reason, people love our hair and it’s always a great ice-breaker with girls.’ He is like, ‘Hey my name’s Robert. Want to touch my hair?’ I thought he was joking, but it really works, Justin reportedly told UK’s The People (via Celebuzz). “It’s funny. All the hair polls that are done is either me first and Robert second, or the other way around.”

But according to Rob, he did not offer The Biebs an love life advice.

“I’ve never met this guy. I saw that as well,” Rob told MTV during a recent interview. “I was like, ‘You’re really famous, man — what are you doing? You don’t need to use me to make up stories!’”

It looks like the story was made up as Justin’s camp denies that the 16-year-old singing sensation ever received advice on his love life from the Twilight hunk.

“This never actually happened,” a rep for Justin told E! News. “Justin never claimed to have met Robert.”

We bet someday soon the heartthrobs will meet and make girls everywhere swoon. But for now, that has not happened.

Robert Pattinson - Robert Pattinson says Kristen Stewart "A Real Woman"

ROBERT Pattinson says Kristen Stewart became a “real woman” while filming the third Twilight movie, Eclipse.

The 'Twilight Saga' actor - who stars as vampire Edward Cullen opposite his rumoured girlfriend, who plays Bella Swan in the movie franchise - enjoys seeing how much the 20-year-old screen beauty has changed since filming began and claims they are so close, they no longer need to communicate verbally.
“What I especially like about her is that she’s like me, not dizzy from fans and press attention,” he told the Russian edition of Grazia magazine.
"We understand each other without the words. I can tell Kristen about all my problems. But honestly I don't have to. because she's in same position as I am."
For a minute in the interview Rob begins to win us over, talking about Kristen's sincerity as one of the things he loves best about her: "Kristen really cares about me and I'm very grateful for this. She's the most honest and genuine person I've ever met. She always listens and gives good advice regardless of her own interests."
But then he throws us off, saying that he doesn't think love lasts forever: "The idea seems strange to me," Pattinson said. "It's so boring to spend your whole life with the same person." Does Kristen know your feelings about this?! Nothing like learning it from a foreign magazine interview!
Despite his feelings for Kristen, Robert doesn't believe in eternal love.

U.S Actress Ashley Greene Inspired By Robert Pattinson

Ashley Greene is coming forth to say she's totally inspired by co-star Robert Pattinson. And we have to say, she is making us fall in love with Robert Pattinson even more!

Ashley Greene acted with Robert Pattinson as his onscreen sister in Twilight series where Pattinson was in the character of vampire. Ashley said Pattinson is much grounded man and he has not changed his down to earth attitude a bit in spite of achieving immense success and phenomenon fame. British actor Pattinson stared his full-fledged acting career with a small role in “Harry Potter and Goblet of fire” in 2005. Ashley added Pattinson smelled the success and got global exposure when he got the role of vampire in Twilight series. Acting opposite to Kristen Stewart in Twilight sequels helped Pattinson to attain global stardom within very short span of time.
Ashley tells the U.K's Daily Mail, "Robert Pattinson, who plays my adoptive brother in the Twilight films, has been one of my biggest inspirations. As a person, he's not like anyone I've ever met in Hollywood, and as an actor he's a complete natural." Awww, we think that's incredibly sweet. And since Ashley seems like such an honest, real person, we highly doubt she's just saying these things. We think she really means them!

Robert Pattinson interview with David Letterman

English actor and model Robert Pattinson, who is the best known for playing Edward Cullen in the film adaptation of Twilight Letterman appearance reveals all.

Let's face it: you probably don't love Edward Cullen because of Edward Cullen. You probably love Edward Cullen because of Robert Pattinson. Pattinson's press tour to promote the Twilight Saga: New Moon has been ruthless, yet he's still charming crowds with his lovable high-energy. His appearance on The Late Show With David Letterman Wednesday night was a prime display of Pattinson preciousness, and we have video here.

Rob talked about dating, his first film ("My entire part was dubbed over by another actor," he laughs), biting, and -- our favorite part -- what it's like for a British actor to speak with an American accent. Watch Robert Pattinson's Letterman interview to see what two American words are the funniest for a Brit to say.

It was a very charming interview. We can also tell that Dave doesn't understand the Twilight craze. That's ok - we do!
