Lindsay Lohan Begins House Arrest Today

We hope Lindsay Lohan is comfortable in her crib because she's going to be spending a lot more time there, starting today. Earlier this morning, Lohan arrived at the Lynwood Jail before returning
to her Venice, California home to begin her house arrest sentence, according to People.

"She is now confined to the interior premises of her home at all times," LA Sheriff's spokesman, Steve Whitmore, told People.

To keep Lohan in check, officers fitted the 24-year-old starlet with an electronic ankle monitoring bracelet that will not allow Lohan to leave her premises.

Although Lohan was originally sentenced to four months in jail after pleading no contest to the theft of a $2,500 necklace, it was decided that she would serve her sentence in the comfort of her own home due to facility overcrowding.

People also reports that Lohan could spend as little as two weeks on house arrest if she displays good behavior -- an option made possible due to the city's budget restraints. But she won't get off that easy, Lohan still must complete her 480 ordered hours of community service which she'll split between a downtown LA women's shelter and the county morgue.

Lohan's house arrest sounds more like a relaxing stay-cation to us. And hey, if she gets lonely, she can always throw a house party.

Lindsay Lohan Still Peeved With Paris Hilton

Lindsay Lohan is still simmering over former friend Paris Hilton's nasty swipe at her in the promo for her new show 'The World According to Paris.'

The preview showed Hilton giving a pair of earrings to a homeless woman. When the woman mistook Paris for Lindsay, Paris replied, "If I were Lindsay, I'd be stealing the earrings, and not giving them away." Meowch!

"Lindsay is really trying to change her life for the better. This proves Paris will never change. She's always going to be mean and spiteful to other women," a pal of Lindsay's tells PopEater.

Paris has a long history of burning her female friendships starting with the one that brought her reality television fame on 'The Simple Life' with Nicole Richie.

Hilton's new show is meant to reposition her brand to show that she is more than the vapid hard partying celebutante with a bad attitude. The trailers are filled with a gaggle of less attractive but seemingly supportive girlfriends who hang on Hilton's every word.

It doesn't look like too much has changed save for Hilton's friends becoming more average. And her jokes about Lohan prove she hasn't morphed into a nice person overnight.

"Really Paris had to make a wisecracks about Lindsay in a homeless shelter? It just shows how insecure she is," the pal told us.

Lindsay is no stranger to barbs being tossed her way and she doesn't typically have the thickest skin when she is the object of ridicule. Earlier this year she was upset when she was the butt of Gwyneth Paltrow's jokes on 'Glee.'

But the struggling actress does know that putting herself back in the spotlight with the upcoming Gotti biopic will open her up to criticism. Still, she didn't expect it out of the mouth of a former friend.

"If the rest of the show is all Paris bashing people this thing is going to have a short shelf life." another friend of both Paris and Lindsay's tells PopEater.

"We've all seen her act like a jerk. She needs to give us something new."

Photo : Lindsay Lohan Gets Bloody on a Backstreet Wall

Lindsay Lohan will be a daily fixture in AJ McLean's new house. The Backstreet Boy was one of the many famous faces at Tyler Shields' gallery opening this weekend, not only enjoying the show
but shopping for art for celebrity-themed his new house with his fiancée Rochelle Karidis.

"We were trying to figure out which one I wanted to get because we bought a new house," McLean told PopEater, when asked what his favorite shoot in the show was. "It's actually the one I just bought of Lindsay [Lohan] because my fiancee worked on her make up on that shoot."

Check out more details on the photo and more of what McLean had to say below!

The photograph in question is one of a series of vampire-themed shots with Lohan at the center. McLean's house will display a shot where Lohan appears bloody, stabbing 'Vampire Diaries' star, Michael Trevino. The shot is just a taste of Shields style, which McLean likened to legendary photographers.

"He's an absolute genius, in my honest opinion," McLean told us. "If you were to put Herb Ritz and Andy Warhol together, that' who Tyler is."

McLean himself has been the subject of a Shields shoot, featured in a video portrait with Mad Men star Michael Gladis, where he inadvertently stabbed Gladis with a knife.

Paris Hilton: I Give Things Away, Lindsay Steals Them

Although we're not sure that Paris Hilton can really talk when it comes to Lindsay Lohan's track record (the heiress has also taken a mugshot or two), in the promo released for her new reality gig,
'The World According to Paris,' she dishes out meals for the homeless and a major diss for Lohan.

In the promo video (via E! Online), Hilton pats herself on the back saying, "feeding the homeless is not actually part of my community service. I do it because I love to give back and help out whenever I can."

But not long after her shameless gloating, a homeless woman she is serving asks the heiress for her earrings. Being the model citizen she is, Hilton obliges but not before the woman says that she plans on re-gifting the jewelry to her sister, courtesy of "Lindsay [Lohan]."

But Hilton doesn't let the slip-up slide: "I'm not Lindsay. If I were Lindsay I'd be stealing the earrings, not giving them away."

But now Hilton is re-thinking her original diss.

"I apologize to Lindsay for the comment that I made," she told TMZ. "I was joking around but it was thoughtless and unnecessary."

"Thoughtless and unnecessary," that sounds more like our girl, Hilton.

Lindsay Lohan Talks Legal Woes, Future on 'Tonight Show' VIDEO

With an appeal in the works on a sentence that would see her spend 120 days in prison, Lindsay Lohan went on 'The Tonight Show' to talk about the woes that have plagued her since her late
teenage years and her desire to get her life back on track.

"I've made a lot of poor decisions in the past and I'm dealing with the consequences of those decisions," she said. "I know that I have to work to gain the respect back and I'm willing to do the work that I have to do to follow through with being an actress because that's what I love."

When asked what she would change about herself, she turned it around and said she'd rather change the public perception of her. She would much rather it be about her work than her personal troubles. She did admit, "I've put myself in positions where that was the bigger story.

It looks like the looming jail sentence has definitely sobered the 24-year old. We hope she can maintain this healthier mindset and move her career and life in the direction she wants. We'd much rather watch her six years from now talking to Jay Leno about having just won an Oscar than some of the possible alternatives if she slides down the wrong path again.

Lindsay Lohan Tapes 'Tonight Show' Appearance, Receives Standing Ovation

Lindsay Lohan stopped by 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno' Monday to tape her first appearance since being sentenced to jail and received a surprisingly warm welcome from the crowd.

According to RadarOnline.com, the studio audience was apparently thrilled that Lohan stopped by to chat, rising to their feet to cheer when she entered. Those hoping to catch Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth will have to wait -- her appearance was bumped due to Lohan's last-minute sit-down.

Lohan reportedly told Leno that her recent 120-day jail sentence for probation violation was "shocking" and that the sentence "left her numb."

Besides sharing her feelings on her legal woes, Lohan confirmed the news that she will join the cast of 'Gotti: The Generations.'

The actress is currently out on $75,000 bail while she appeals the sentence, which also includes a hefty amount of community service. Lohan is due back in court June 3 for her jewelry theft trial, with a pretrial date set for May 11.

Lindsay Lohan Posts Bail, Leaves Jail

Once a bondsman put up $75,000 in bail to free Lindsay Lohan on Friday night, TMZ reports that the actress walked out of Lynwood Correctional Facility after almost five hours in custody.

The actress, 24, was sentenced earlier in the day to 120 days in jail, plus 480 hours of community service for probation violation (stemming from a 2007 DUI). In January, Lohan had just completed three months of court-ordered rehab when she allegedly walked out of a jewelry store with a pricey necklace, leading to a theft accusation and her latest legal drama.

The judge on Friday reduced Lohan's felony charge to a misdemeanor, but ordered her immediately into custody and set a trial date. The court was reportedly swayed by surveillance video, which allegedly shows a friend of Lohan's acting as a decoy to distract a boutique owner, while the actress slips on a necklace. Lohan has insisted she had permission to borrow the bling, and has blamed a forgetful stylist for neglecting to return it promptly.

Lohan left the detention facility after sundown on Friday in a black SUV, with a sheriff's vehicle escorting hers off the premises. She's due in court May 11 for a pretrial hearing (back in February, Lohan declined a plea bargain, spurring her judge to warn "this case involves jail time"). Her booking in Lynwood is reportedly the fifth time she's been processed and released there.

The community service portion of Lohan's latest sentence requires her to spend 360 hours at the Downtown Women's Center (so she can "see how needy women have to live," according to TMZ) and another 120 hours at the Los Angeles County morgue.

Lindsay Lohan Confirmed for Role in 'Gotti' Film

It's (finally) official: Lindsay Lohan will appear in the upcoming 'Gotti: Three Generations' movie. After days of conflicting reports, UsMagazine.com confirmed on Wednesday that the actress will
play mafia man John Gotti Jr.'s wife, Kim Gotti, in a two-movie deal. In addition to 'Gotti,' Lohan will also appear in 'Mob Story.'

"We're very pleased to have Lindsay on-board for both of these films," executive producer Marc Fiore said in a statement to UsMagazine. "She has been very enthusiastic about the Gotti project, and after resuming discussions with her, we were impressed by her commitment to the film and felt she would be a perfect Kim Gotti."

Lohan was previously in discussions to play Victoria Gotti, but talks eventually broke down between her management team and the producers. Fiore even announced earlier in the day that negotiations with Lohan had ended and she would not be appearing in the film.

But Lohan patched things up and officially joined the cast. "I'm really excited to be back on set and clear up all the misinterpretations about me and show this is what I love to do," Lohan told the Associated Press. "I think it's such an iconic story. I'm honored to be working with John Travolta and Joe Pesci."

Lindsay Lohan Eying Two Movie Deals

As Lindsay Lohan awaits trial on a felony theft charge, she has something positive to look forward to in the near future: two possible movie deals.

According to RadarOnline.com, Hollywood producer Marc Fiore has Lohan in mind for two upcoming movies, one of which is the much-rumored 'Gotti' biopic.

"I want Lindsay to be in 'Gotti' and another movie that I'm producing," said Fiore, who serves as executive producer for 'Gotti: Three Generations.' "She's a great, great actress."

Lohan seems very interested in the role of Victoria Gotti, and even showed up to pose with the real mob daughter at a press event earlier this month.

The second role Fiore would like to see Lohan in is 'Mob Street,' a Wall Street-centered mafia flick written by 'The Usual Suspects' star Chazz Palminteri.

Though the actress has become known more for her legal escapades than her acting, Fiore said he's only seen the responsible side of Lohan in his dealings with her.

"She's been very professional with me," he said. "People make mistakes. Look at so many other people in Hollywood."

Lohan's first preliminary hearing in her theft case is scheduled for April 22, but according to Radar, the actress is trying to get the hearing postponed in order to observe the Good Friday holiday.

Lindsay Lohan in Talks to Play Victoria Gotti

Lindsay Lohan's association with crime isn't quite over yet.
The troubled star is in "final talks" to play Victoria Gotti in 'Gotti: Three Generations,' the
upcoming biopic about Victoria's mafioso father, John, TMZ reports.

If finalized, Lohan would join John Travolta, who has signed on to play John Gotti. Rumors have also been swirling that Kim Kardashian recently met with executive producers to discuss playing John's daughter-in-law, Kim Gotti.

With a budget of $75 million, producer Marc Fiore has said the film is "going to be the new 'Godfather.'" Reports say more casting details about 'Gotti: Three Generations' will be revealed in a news conference in New York City on April 12.

If cast, 'Gotti' would be Lohan's first role since completing a rehab stint at the Betty Ford Center.

Most recently, the actress was reportedly set to audition for a role in the new 'Superman' movie. However, filming for 'Superman' is scheduled to begin in this August, making it difficult for Lohan to ensure her availability.

Her trial on charges of grand theft begins later this month, and if convicted, she may be spending the summer behind bars.

"If Lindsay is found guilty of grand theft, she would inevitably be serving jail time, which almost certainly would coincide with the production schedule," said a source close to the film.

Lindsay Lohan’s Changing Her Name to Just (Lindsay)

When you hear the name Lindsay, is there one person that comes to mind? Well, Lindsay Lohan thinks it’s her, so she’s decided to officially drop the “Lohan” from her name.

“Lindsay is dropping the Lohan and just going by Lindsay,” Lindsay’s mother Dina Lohan told PopEater. “Plus, me and [younger daughter] Ali will be officially changing our last names back to my maiden name, Sullivan.”

According to PopEater, Lindsay decided that after the “milkaholic Lindsay” comment from the Super Bowl E-trade ad was made she was well-enough known by just “Lindsay.”

“So many of the greatest people in showbiz are known by just their first name. Look at Oprah and Beyonce. Now you can add Lindsay to that list,” a family friend explained to PopEater. “And it’s a way for them all to start over. No one in the family want anything to do with Lindsay’s father [Michael Lohan] anymore and that includes sharing a last name.”

Lindsay Lohan Gets More Time to Decide

Lindsay Lohan all but rejected a plea agreement on Thursday that prosecutors promised would include jail, but Judge Keith Schwartz decided to give the troubled actress another two weeks to
reconsider before officially sending her to another judge and a new trial for felony grand theft.

"If you and your counsel do not accept the plea deal, then you do not have to return to this court," Judge Schwartz told Lohan during the brief hearing. If she rejects the prosecutors on March 25, then a preliminary hearing will take place on April 22 with Judge Stephanie Sautner at the helm.

The exact terms of the plea deal were not disclosed, but Lohan was on probation in January when a Venice jewelry store accused her of taking a $2,500 necklace. She pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Judge Schwartz made it clear during their last meeting, on Feb. 23, that "this case does involve jail time" if she pleads guilty. But on Wednesday, RadarOnline.com reported that Lohan's attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, was insisting on a plea deal with no jail time.

The judge said he would sentence her to a minimum of 60 days, but likely no longer than 90 days. He "encouraged Holly to discuss what not taking the plea deal will mean for her."

Lohan was officially charged during a hearing on Feb. 9. After pleading not guilty, Judge Schwartz lanced into the actress for not taking the charges seriously. "If you violate the law again, I will remand you with no bail," he told her. "Things will be different."

If this goes to trial and she is convicted, Lohan could be sent to a California state prison with a maximum sentence of three years behind bars.

The actress, who remains on probation in a 2007 drunken driving case, is accused of taking a necklace from Kamofie & Co. of Venice Beach, Calif., on Jan. 22, roughly three weeks after the actress was released from three months of court-ordered rehab at the Betty Ford Center.

A police report was filed the day of the incident, and authorities reportedly waited until she was photographed wearing the necklace before deciding to pursue charges. A friend of the actress turned the necklace in to the Pacific Division of the LAPD on Feb. 2.

Lohan's lawyer has denied the charges, and the actress claims that the necklace was loaned to her -- and that, unbeknownst to LiLo, her stylist simply forgot to return it in time. The star's dad, Michael Lohan, told PopEater at the time that the entire incident was as a "ridiculous" misunderstanding

Videos reveals the involvement of the Lindsay Lohan of stealing a gold necklace

After lengthy conversations about the accusation famous American actress Lindsay Lohan of stealing a gold necklace "hold", the owner of a jewelry store decided to cut the doubt with

certainty, and leave the video surveillance camera speaks for itself.

Indeed, the jeweler Christopher Spencer invited the media over the weekend, to apply for a copyright video, the site Entertainment Tonight publish short video, as promised more shots in the television program.
Appeared Lohan -24 years old - in the video which was filmed from several angles, she toured the store, and try to wear the number of pieces of jewelry, as it was Lohan wearing "shorts" and the bot, and accompanied by a man who is not known.

About Lindsay Lohan cause : Jeweler in Theft Case Sells Key Evidence

This weekend brings a major new wrinkle in the case against Lindsay Lohan, in which she's accused of felony theft by a jewelry store owner who says the actress stole a $2,500 necklace in
January.

Kamofie & Co. has just sold the surveillance video allegedly showing Lindsay Lohan leaving their store with the unpaid merchandise, according to a new report from RadarOnline.com. And the sale, reportedly brokered by a media dealer who peddled the footage to both U.S. and international outlets, is estimated to be earning the Southern California jeweler more than $35,000.

"The jewelry store wanted a bidding war to maximize profits," a source tells Radar. Entertainment Tonight is reportedly one buyer; the show is expected to air the controversial footage on Monday.

On the one hand, public scrutiny of the video could further embarrass the troubled actress, who left rehab in early January, after months of trying to resolve her legal woes so she can repair her image and revive her career.

On the other hand, the prosecution's case against Lohan is in jeopardy, now that its key witness has made such a money-hungry move. In the past, Lohan's team has suggested she was set up, and as the opportunistic jeweler walks off with thousands before the case is even tried, the store's claim that they were victims of theft weakens.

"Lindsay Lohan may have just gotten the luckiest break of her life," RadarOnline.com's managing editor and executive vice president, David Perel, tells PopEater. "If the criminal case comes down to her word versus the word of the jeweler, it will be Advatage: Lindsay. The jewelry store has now used the case for profit, and Lindsay's lawyer is sure to have a very compelling argument that the cash-for-tape scandal destroys the credibility of Lindsay's accuser."

And as for Lohan's attorey, Shawn Chapman Holley, Radar reports that the jeweler's lawyer contacted Holley last week about obtaining the defense's copy of the video -- allegedly in order to keep it from being shared or leaked, all in an effort to ensure top dollar for their own lucrative sale of the tape.

Both the prosecution and the defense are "not happy" about the sale of the footage. Lohan, meanwhile, is reportedly "terrified" of doing any jail time, but may be feeling hopeful if indeed the jeweler has sabotaged the case by selling key evidence. The 24-year-old film star's next court date is this Thurs., March 11.

Lindsay Lohan Focusing on (My Recovery and Stuff)

Lindsay Lohan has given her first interview since legal drama derailed her comeback, threatening the star with jail, and compared to Charlie Sheen, whose own media blitz has dominated the
headlines, the 'Mean Girls' star comes off as perfectly well-adjusted.

Speaking to Extra for an interview airing Tuesday night, Lohan clear-headedly talks about her teetering career and what she must do to steady it. "I feel great," she said. "As long as I'm focusing on the one thing that I know I need to put forth in my life, which is you know, my recovery and stuff. Then I'm doing good and that's most important for me."

She also knows that it will take time to regain the trust of the film industry after her latest spat with the law. She is in very serious danger of going to jail on felony charges she stole a necklace in January and has until March 10 to decide if she wants to take a plea deal (which will include jail) or go to trial.

[Because her case is pending, Lohan was not able to talk about the specifics of the charges against her.]

"There's gonna be a lot of steps that I have to go through to kind of prove myself again and get the trust from the people that I respect to work with," she said. "But I'm to do what I have to do to get there, because that's my passion."

Lohan hopes that after she has sorted out her legal problems, industry bigwigs will take her back. She told Extra that she won't ponder about who she'd like to work with next until she's even allowed back on a set.

"I think that will be something I'll be able to say when I've taken the steps that I need to take to prove I can be insurable again. I think that will come in time when I'll even be in the position to say that. Because I don't think I am right now."

She adds, "I don't think that would be fair to just say 'Oh, this is who I want to work with!' and expect that to happen. No, I have to build my way back up. I get that.

Looking Back at a Half-Decade of Lindsay Lohan Scandals

http://www.blogcdn.com/www.popeater.com/media/2011/01/1286536098762.jpeg.jpg
From DUIs, multiple stints in rehab, countless cat fights and daddy issues that would put Joe Jackson in the Father of the Year category, Lindsay Lohan is the tabloid gift

that just keeps on giving. A new year doesn't mean a fresh start for our favorite freckled redhead -- a cyclone of scandal seems to follow her everywhere she goes.

At least the girl takes a good mug shot.

It all started back in 2002, just off the heels of her Disney glory days, when Lindsay got in the middle of her first tabloid snafu. Long before the days of Team Heidi vs. Team Lauren, it was Team Hilary (Duff) vs. Team Lindsay. It was rumored that the two were snarling over singer Aaron Carter, whom both had dated. She would also verbally duel with Ashlee Simpson in 2004 over boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama (whose influence landed her in bad favor with Disney for "un-Disney-like" behavior).
After several years of developing a reputation for ugly breakups and a high tolerance for the party scene, Lindsay began attending AA meetings in 2006 and finally checked herself into rehab the following year. And after filming 'I Know Who Killed Me' (for which she would later receive a Razzie award for worst actress), she would prove to be unemployable -- withdrawing or being dropped from three films in which she was slated to appear.

Then, the bomb that would unleash a world of shrapnel fell. On May 26, 2007, Lindsay was arrested for DUI and was sentenced to a 45-day rehab program before being forced to wear a SCRAM bracelet to ensure her sobriety. Not even two months later, Lindsay was arrested once again for DUI; but this time she upped the ante when she was found with a small amount of cocaine in her possession. She was sentenced to three years of probation and one day in jail -- for which she served only 84 minutes due to overcrowding.
http://www.blogcdn.com/www.popeater.com/media/2011/01/lindsay-sam-294mc-022310.jpg

In 2008, Lindsay added another partner in crime to fuel the rumor mill fire. Lindsay was frequently seen with DJ Samantha Ronson (pictured at right) before she confirmed the rumors of a relationship. Although fans were relieved to see Lindsay in a stable relationship, Lohan's father, Michael, was not. In response to her father's public defamation of Samantha, she responded via the New York Post, "Samantha is not evil, I care for her very much. ... She loves me, as I do her."

But, the relationship came to an end and led to a string of public pleas from Lindsay begging Samantha to take her back. Lindsay's rock bottom got deeper when she did not show for a mandatory court appearance in May 2010, which forced her to once again sport her SCRAM bracelet and adhere to weekly drug tests.

And although we wanted her to prove us all wrong, Lindsay violated the terms of her probation when she failed one of her weekly drug tests and was sentenced to 90 days in prison, for which she only served 14. As if this ride wasn't bumpy enough, Lindsay added yet another loop on Sept. 17, 2010, when she used her Twitter account to announce that she failed yet another probationary drug test. After posting $300,000 bail, Lindsay appeared in front of a judge, on Oct. 22, who ordered her back to rehab until Jan. 3.

But the New Year didn't bring a clean slate for this embattled star. During her rehab stint, an employee at the Betty Ford Center brought charges against Lindsay for battery. Lindsay allegedly snuck out to a bar with some fellow rehabees, got caught sneaking back in and got into a confrontation with the staffer that then became physical -- a snafu that would have been just that if it didn't violate the conditions of her parole.

Whether or not this latest will get Lindsay in even more hot water remains to be seen, but for now, LiLo is free as a bird (on probation) and back in the loving arms of her media-mongering father, attention-hungry mother and lesbian ex-lover.
